The Community Health and Social Welfare Systems Strengthening Program (CHSSP) helped the government of Tanzania strengthen its health and social welfare system to ensure that there are adequate human resources to provide services in the country’s 106 councils. The program helped control the HIV epidemic by expanding social services to adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), most vulnerable children (MVC), and people living with HIV (PLHIV). CHSSP’s work was guided by the government and PEPFAR 3.0 priorities in accordance with the UNAIDS global 90-90-90 goal.
