JSI Helps Create New WHO Digital Adaptation Kit for Family Planning
July 7th, 2021 | news
A new Digital Adaptation Kit for Family Planning has been launched by WHO to support countries implementing WHO contraception and family planning recommendations in their digital systems. The Digital Adaptation Kit is part of WHO’s continued work on SMART Guidelines.
JSI is a partner in the development of the new DAK for family planning in digital systems. The guidelines address the broader spectrum of quality of care, including screening, testing and counselling for choosing and managing contraceptive methods, care and support for survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence, and considerations for adolescent well-being and promoting self-care interventions.
As countries increasingly invest in digital technologies for health system strengthening, and COVID-19 further accelerates the rise of digital health, DAKs ensure that people – both implementers and users – remain at the heart of the digital journey.
WHO’s Smart Guideline approach is continuing to expand and DAKs for HIV and STIs are forthcoming, with DAKs for immunizations, postnatal care, child health, and self-care interventions already in development.
