World Breastfeeding Week
August 1st, 2022 | news
August 1–7 is World Breastfeeding Week. As a critical part of infant nutrition and food security, breastfeeding is one of the most powerful solutions to save the lives of infants and children. USAID Advancing Nutrition is educating and supporting mothers and families on the benefits of breastfeeding by addressing the key barriers to optimal breastfeeding practices and creating an enabling environment to encourage breastfeeding. The project works to save lives, prevent malnutrition, and enhance long-term health through collaboration with global partners and country-led programs in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Honduras, India, Kenya, Kyrgyz Republic, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda.
This World Breastfeeding Week, join us in elevating the importance of breastfeeding across communities and health systems around the world:
We strive to build lasting relationships to produce better health outcomes for all.
