inSupply Health is pleased to announce the launch of the Strengthening Pharmacy Provision of Contraceptives in Kenya project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The project aims to develop and test the viability and scalability of a pharmacy business model that offers customers convenient, discrete, quality counseling, training, and provision of contraceptive products. The focus is on the self-injection of DMPA-SC as part of a larger basket of self-care products. We are working with an exceptional team of partners- the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK), the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association (KPA), the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI). This new project is part of an initiative that has the potential to transform family planning in Kenya by unlocking the potential of the pharmacy channel to expand access and method choice for women while ensuring a viable business model for pharmacists. inSupply Health and partners will leverage the entire ecosystem of partners, including associations, innovators, women’s groups, non-governmental organizations, and online retailers, to ensure sustainable and scalable approaches.
