Chief of Party, USAID Quality Healthcare Activity
Yenealem Tadesse focuses on preventing child and maternal deaths by improving the quality of reproductive, maternal, child, newborn, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) care at referral hospitals and primary health care units. In this role, she also covers cross-cutting technical areas, such as whole system thinking; global health security; gender, youth, and social inclusion; health facility renovation in post-conflict settings; digital health; and emergency response. Yenealem is a medical doctor who has led various projects with local and global partner organizations in Ethiopia, working with the Ministry of Health to improve RMNCAH services from community to tertiary hospitals including demand creation efforts and engagement in primary health care reform. Before JSI, she led RMNCAH activities in the country through Project Hope, Jhpiego, and Save the Children International.
