Learn, Share, and Network at the First GS1 Conference

Every day millions of patients across the world depend on safe medication. Unfortunately, the presence of falsified medication is a huge threat to patient safety, especially in Africa. WHO estimates that 10% of medication distributed in low- and middle-income countries may be fake, which can threaten patient safety.
GS1 standards and barcodes can help supply chain partners ensure that patients receive actual medication. Manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, distributors, logistics providers, industry associations, governmental bodies and regulators, and health care professionals around the globe are working to integrate GS1 standards and barcodes into the supply chain.
