SUMMARY

Indoor residual spraying (IRS) protects millions of people from malaria by spraying insecticide on indoor resting places of mosquitoes that transmit malaria.

JSI was awarded a contract with the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC) under the UNITAID-funded Next Generation IRS project to develop a robust methodology and tool for forecasting third generation non-pyrethroid insecticide formulations (3GIRS).

JSI set up sustainable IRS forecasting processes through regional workshops and developing a forecasting tool and guide. JSI also built the capacity of in-country partners and key stakeholders in these approaches to independently manage future forecasts.
