JSI and RHSC Develop a Roadmap for Building Resilient SRH Supply Chains during COVID-19 and Beyond
August 14th, 2020 | news
We are pleased to announce a new initiative with the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) to engage the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) community to develop a roadmap for building resilient supply chains for SRH products during COVID-19 and beyond.
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted public health supply chains, revealing underlying vulnerabilities in the global supply ecosystems and increasing uncertainty in both the supply and demand of life-saving SRH medicines and products.
The RHSC, with our support, is leading a 6-month effort to move from anecdote to evidence through a rapid assessment of constraints to SRH product availability created and exacerbated by COVID-19. We will synthesize our analysis and findings to develop a community roadmap that will help prioritize practical actions to mitigate current, acute challenges and also promote greater supply chain resiliency and a more coordinated SRH community response in the longer term.
This activity leverages the RHSC’s convening power and the collective expertise of its leadership and member capacity, organizational strengths, data and improvement opportunities.
We will build on more than 40 years of family planning and supply chain expertise. In particular, this initiative will benefit from our deep understanding of the end-to-end supply chain, from our leadership on supply chain coordination and improved data visibility at the global level to our partnerships in more than 20 countries strengthening supply chains at the last mile.
