Dr. Nabeela Ali Receives Honors from Women in Global Health
August 27th, 2019 | news
JSI’s Dr. Nabeela Ali was recognized for her leadership and contribution to global health at the launch of the Women in Global Health Pakistan Chapter in Islamabad on August 20, 2019. Pakistan launched the region’s first Women in Global Health chapter following months of planning, nominations, and a successful social media campaign.
Only 23 percent of Pakistan’s 103 million women participate in the labor market, and the disparity in the health sector is even greater. While women often serve in community and primary health care roles, they are rarely seen in executive positions or at the policy tables. The Women in Global Health movement aims to achieve gender equality in global health leadership.
JSI is proud of all that Dr. Nabeela Ali has accomplished in her medical and public health career. Under her capable leadership, JSI has worked successfully with the government of Pakistan in several provinces to improve maternal, newborn, and child health indicators, operationalize the devolution of the health sector, and strengthen the federal and provincial health systems.
We strive to build lasting relationships to produce better health outcomes for all.
