Many JSI staff are volunteering to help their communities in this time of COVID-19. This includes donating plasma, contact tracing, making and donating face masks, and calling senior citizens in their communities to let them know about available resources.
One JSI volunteer has been profiled for her work delivering food to people who can’t leave their homes. Eugenie Coakley, a Boston-based public health statistician and epidemiologist, has been volunteering with Springwell, a local nonprofit serving older adults and caregivers with in-home services and support, including daily meals for more than 800 seniors.
Well prepared nutritious food is so important…coordinating the logistics during this pandemic is more challenging than ever…[but] I feel a connection to people and feel like I am helping,” Eugenie says.
We strive to build lasting relationships to produce better health outcomes for all.
