Senior Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Advisor, International
Soumya Alva has more than 25 years of research, monitoring, and evaluation strategic and technical leadership experience. She has led monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) teams for large-scale projects, and has forged partnerships to drive data-led public health programming. At JSI’s Center for Health Information, Monitoring and Evaluation (CHIME), Soumya is the senior MEL director for MOMENTUM Knowledge Accelerator, which is part of USAID’s flagship maternal, newborn, child health, family planning, and reproductive health project. Soumya has an MA and PhD in sociology from the University of Maryland and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Carolina Population Center, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
