Framework Agreements in Humanitarian Settings: Unlocking Efficiency and Managing Trade-Offs
November 22nd, 2024 | event
Join JSI for an insightful technical discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of using framework agreements in procurement of health supplies, focusing on their application in humanitarian contexts. Framework contracts play a vital role in humanitarian settings, balancing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and risk management in procurement. However, they also come with challenges that require strategic planning. During this conversation with supply chain experts Nikola Usenovic of the International Medical Corps and Mohamed Kassas of the International Organization for Migration, we will reflect on how framework contracts can streamline procurement processes, foster supplier relationships, and drive strategic goals, such as sustainability and innovation, while balancing trade-offs and priorities.
This technical discussion is being organized by the Humanitarian Commodities Logistics (HCL) Community of Practice of IAPHL and the JSI-managed Building Capacity to Improve Health Commodity Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings program, with support from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance.
We strive to build lasting relationships to produce better health outcomes for all.
