Developing and Promoting Behavioral Health Initiatives
Addressing behavioral health, including substance use disorders and mental health, is integral to meeting the overall health needs of individuals and communities.
We help develop the capacity of the behavioral health system across the continuum of care, including prevention, treatment, and recovery. We work on integrating behavioral health with medical services; researching, assessing, and disseminating best practices; developing capacity to engage in value-based payment systems; and strengthening the behavioral health workforce.
Our work in substance use disorders includes tobacco, alcohol, and prescription and non-prescription drug misuse. We mitigate the opioid crisis by providing training, technical assistance, research, and evaluation related to screening and early intervention, medication-assisted treatment, peer support, recovery models, and managerial and operational aspects of substance use practices.
We also integrate mental health with health services to bridge gaps and provide more comprehensive care.
