Introducing MeasureD: A new resource for evaluating design in health initiatives
January 28th, 2020 | news
JSI’s pleased to share a new, free resource for evaluating social design’s contribution to improving human health and wellbeing, called MeasureD.
With support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the resource was developed by practitioners from JSI, Arizona State University, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The team investigated and evaluated a diverse group of projects to understand how and when design was used, how its contribution was measured, and what difference it made. What they learned is accessible to anyone wanting to understand, measure and scale the impact of social design in order to strengthen society and create the conditions for equitable human and environmental health.
MeasureD is intended to represent the highest level of practice and help organizations and communities understand where, when, and how social design is most effective. The website is just the beginning, and the group looks to expand the definitions of social design, and health, and discover new examples of how design is being used and measured.
