JSI and UNICEF Launch Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Image Bank

New online resource provides hundreds of illustrations for nutrition behavior change
JSI, through its global nutrition project, SPRING, partnered with UNICEF to develop the Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Image Bank, a new online resource that makes more than 700 illustrations related to maternal, infant, and young child nutrition freely available for non-profit uses.
In 2010, UNICEF developed and launched an integrated package of training, counseling, and take-home materials known as the Community Infant and Young Child Feeding Counselling Package, which promotes improved nutrition practices through high-quality graphic illustrations. Since then, the generic IYCF package and the corresponding images have been adopted and/or adapted by UNICEF and partners in over 70 countries globally.
Until now, however, there was no systematic way to share the images or make them more widely available–and editable for public health programs. The IYCF Image Bank makes generic illustrations and specific adaptations available in editable formats to organizations creating print materials and other visual aids aimed at promoting health.
These packages are a useful resource for nutrition social and behavior change programs, as they provide specific messages and practices coupled with high-quality visuals that may be adapted for use in local programs around the world. As image files for these packages become available, they will be added to the image bank.
If you have a package or images from an adaptation to contribute, please contact JSI at jsinfo@jsi.com
We strive to build lasting relationships to produce better health outcomes for all.
