JSI Staffer to Become Bloomberg Fellow at JHU

JSI staffer Adelaide Murray has been accepted as a fellow of the Bloomberg American Health Initiative at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
As a Bloomberg Fellow, Adelaide will receive a full scholarship to earn a master of public health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Bloomberg Fellows program represents an innovative way to train the next generation of public health leaders, as it requires not only a commitment to public health practice from the students but also a commitment of collaboration from the organizations for which they already work. Fellows can study full- or part-time and, upon completion of the program, work for their sponsoring organization for at least one additional year, applying their new knowledge and skills in their communities.
Unlike the direct-line relationship between most scholarship programs and their beneficiaries, the Bloomberg Fellows Program connects the Bloomberg School, the fellows, and their organizations. As a partner organization, JSI will:
- Provide practice opportunities for fellows during the MPH program.
- Participate in a network of organizations using evidence to make progress in health.
- Exchange ideas and collaborate with faculty and staff at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Partner organizations are located across the U.S and reflect a diversity of efforts to overcome critical challenges in five focus areas: addiction and overdose; environmental challenges; obesity and the food system; risks to adolescent health, and violence.
Adelaide joined JSI in 2016 and quickly became a valuable asset to our New Hampshire office, working on various substance-use disorder projects for the New Hampshire Center for Excellence.
