In the early 1990’s JSI rolled out two major public health initiatives in Eswatini: The Resources for Child Health project, which increased access to routine immunizations for children and improved treatment for acute respiratory infections; and AIDSCAP, USAID’s flagship global HIV prevention initiative. JSI continued to improve child health in Eswatini through the Basic Support for Institutionalizing Child Survival (BASICS) project and went on to implement activities through AIDSTAR-One, USAID’s follow-up to AIDSCAP. JSI managed the MEASURE project in a comprehensive health system analysis in the country and has more recently partnered with PEPFAR and the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland (now Eswatini) in an initiative to scale up and create demand for safe male circumcision (SMC) services.
