A number of states across the country are requiring Medicaid managed care plans to reinvest profit into the communities they serve. This is an opportunity to expand support and shared responsibility and accountability for structural change that advances health equity.
The way new reinvestment policies are implemented and funds are administered will make a huge difference in the impact of the reinvestments. The article describes several key learnings and recommendations to help states develop and implement policies that will facilitate the best outcomes.
