SUMMARY

In Mozambique, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is funding JSI to build the capacity of the country’s National HIV and AIDS Council (CNCS) in social and behavior change communication (SBCC). Specifically, JSI will support the CNCS to strengthen the national HIV and AIDS communication strategy, develop a monitoring and evaluation tool to measure the effect of SBCC efforts on a national scale, and develop and deliver a short introductory course on the principles and practice of SBCC for government and NGO managers and staff. JSI also will build a web platform for the CNCS, which will house evidence-based information about the HIV epidemic globally and in Mozambique for researchers, responders, and the general public.

Additionally, JSI will support the communications efforts of CDC-Mozambique and its implementing partner organizations by helping to develop communications materials for the public and deliver communications-related trainings for staff and managers.
