JSI will conduct medical record reviews of Ryan White clients receiving outpatient/ambulatory health services (OAHS) through the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program under a sub-contract with Abt Associates Inc. The primary purpose of this multi-year, multi-phase evaluation project is to provide the Human Resources and Services Administration HIV/AIDS Bureau (HRSA/HAB) with data to determine the quality of the provision of HIV OAHS, primary care, and screening and treatment for hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and substance and opioid use disorder.
In Year 1, JSI staff will work with Abt staff to develop recommendations for the collection of data variables and the data collection instrument, perform medical record data abstraction at 9 pilot sites and review the data collected from the pilot phase. After the pilot year, medical record data abstraction efforts will expand to 50 clinical sites nationwide and data will be collected on an annual basis for at least 3 years.
