SUMMARY

The Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) serves participants of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) throughout Massachusetts as well as support to the local economy. The shared goals of this partnership between the Departments of Transitional Assistance, Agriculture Resources, and Public Health Departments of Massachusetts are to create a sustainable statewide incentive program and to assess the impact of the new incentive program on SNAP clients' purchase of locally-grown fruits and vegetables. The 1:1 incentive program will be available for SNAP participants at 4 points of sale: farmers markets, farm stands, mobile markets, and CSAs.

JSI will evaluate the Healthy Incentive Program through data analysis, community-wide surveys, and observations.
