Scaling and Sustaining Quality Improvement Strategies to Improve Routine Immunization Systems (QI2RI)

In Ethiopia and Uganda, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has supported JSI to implement programs that have included concepts and tools from the field of quality improvement (QI) to strengthen immunization systems (both for routine immunization and supply chain). To further expand and sustain/institutionalize these innovations, this concept note proposes an externally facilitated learning process with the countries that identifies and explores key lessons learned on how QI methods strengthened the immunization system as well as how program activities moved from innovation to implementation. This would be in two phases: first to gather perspectives and synthesize learning and secondly to discuss and identify opportunities for scale.
