Texas Accountable Communities for Health Initiative (TACHI) Sustainability Inquiry

JSI researchers conducted a qualitative inquiry into strategies to support the financial sustainability of the Episcopal Health Foundation's Texas Accountable Communities for Health Initiative (TACHI). Researchers spoke with key informants—both nationally and within Texas—to better understand steps that TACHI can take to ensure that its sites achieve financial sustainability.

Key research questions included:

• What is the prevailing thinking in the field about strategies to sustainably fund multi-sector health collaboratives such as TACHI?
• What funding models and strategies are most likely to be successful in the Texas context?
• What policy levers are most likely to positively affect the funding environment in Texas?
• What attributes and/or capacities are most essential for TACHI grantees to possess to move toward sustainability?
