SUMMARY

This project aims to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the vaccine supply chain in Ethiopia through technical support for the integration of vaccine supply chain management by the Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Supply Agency (EPSA). JSI provides technical leadership for supply chain analysis and design, development and implementation of logistics management information systems, and visibility and use of logistics data for decision making.

This grant will be used to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the vaccine supply chain in Ethiopia through the completion of a transfer of responsibility for vaccine supply chain management to the Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency (PFSA), increased visibility and use of logistics data for decision making, and improved performance and sustainability of PFSA’s supply chain Management Information Systems (MIS).

As a follow-on to our previous two-year engagement with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, JSI has been awarded a three-year grant to provide further support to the transition of the management of vaccines to the Pharmaceuticals Fund and Supply Agency (PFSA) in Ethiopia. The work will focus on increased visibility and use of logistics data for decision making and improved transportation and storage of vaccines to ensure increased vaccines availability. This project will work closely with activities funded by USAID via the AIDSFree Project in Ethiopia. Learn more about our work to date with the PFSA transition here.
