PCMT, the Product Catalog Management Tool, is built on Akeneo's, a leading commercial PIM, open source community edition (CE). It provides a set of extensions to add or expand critical functionality for managing public health product data, such as GS1 reference data, uploads, approval workflow, and more. PCMT has been helping organizations at the intersection of health and supply chains enrich their product data since 2019. At that time, PCMT was deployed as a national product catalog in five LMIC countries and as a backing technology for the Global Family Planning Visual Analytics Network. PCMT has been recognized as a Digital Public Good by the Digital Public Goods Alliance, as a Global Good for Health by Digital Square, and as an OpenHIE Reference Technology.
Funded by WHO and sub-awarded by VillageReach, JSI will provide software development, technical, and user documentation services to support the completion of several outcomes and related deliverables for the Product Registry for SMART Guidelines and achieve 1) Feature development of the PCMT to support the country adaptation workflows for SMART Guidelines as a core component of the planned SMART Guidelines Exchange Platform including multi-tenant support and synchronization with the HL7 FHIR data model; and 2) Facilitate the ability for WHO internal teams, country teams, and donors to curate supply product master data using the PCMT by providing appropriate training materials and guidelines, tools and guidance on curation and to coordinate import and synchronization processes curation for product catalogs and product master data.
