The USAID-funded Asia Resilient Cities (ARC) Project is enhancing sustainable development and environmental conservation in Khulna, Bangladesh which includes promoting green sector job opportunities. A key priority is the inclusion of women, who face systemic gender biases, inadequate infrastructure, and heightened vulnerability to climate change, often leading to marginalization in jobs and public services. By broadening the labor force, ARC aims to support Khulna’s transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. This brief uses qualitative data and a desk review to detail the current context and begins to define how ARC can address green livelihoods in Khulna.
