Decision-Making Considerations and Drivers of Country-Level Adoption or Switch to a Single-Dose HPV Vaccination Schedule: A Global Assessment Presentation

This presentation highlights the complex decision-making processes surrounding the adoption of single-dose vaccination strategies for HPV, highlighting both enabling and constraining forces at the country level. While HPV vaccination programs are in an era of revitalization (following a period of dormancy during COVID-19), and eliminating cervical cancer is a global priority, future vaccine introductions by LMICs should evaluate if the existing framework and structure in their country are conducive to agile vaccine policy decision-making. A functional NITAG is needed to guide a country toward immunization schedule decisions, and future vaccine introductions by LMICs should prioritize this to expedite vaccine decision-making. These findings can support single-dose HPV vaccine advocates as they work to expedite evidence-informed country decision-making in an increasingly complex immunization ecosystem.
