Infographic: Vriddhi Contributes to Private Sector Engagement for RMNCH+A Services in India

Private medical practitioners are preferred health service providers across the socioeconomic spectrum in India, but private sector engagement in government programs to improve reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCH+A) services has been suboptimal. Through Vriddhi, JSI led an independent landscaping assessment in six USAID priority states to better understand private sector RMNCH+A service delivery and to identify opportunities for public-private partnership (PPP). In collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders, JSI used this evidence to inform and implement a scale up strategy with the potential to reach nearly 7,000 private practitioners in six states. These efforts will create a platform for crucial discussions between public and private sector stakeholders, spearheading efforts to improve private sector engagement and ultimately increasing RMNCH+A service quality and access through private sector providers.

This infographic highlights the process JSI used in implementing the initiative – from evidence generation, to knowledge sharing, to scale-up across six states in India. JSI India, 2018.
