Protecting the Most Vulnerable: The Challenge of Urban Immunization

By 2050, 66% of the world’s population will be urban dwellers, with 90% of this increase occurring in Africa and Asia in cities with fewer than 1,000,000 people. As urban populations continue to grow, the global community must rethink current approaches to immunization to meet the unique needs of the marginalized and under-served urban poor. This brochure outlines how JSI can help countries and partners design innovative approaches to overcome the primary barriers for the urban poor to access and use vaccination services.
