Supporting the COVID-19 Response in Pakistan: Ensuring Health Workers Have the Knowledge and Skills to Combat COVID-19 and Prevent Future Pandemics

This technical brief was developed as an update regarding the USAID-supported Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery (IHSS-SD) Activity’s work to strengthen Pakistan’s workforce capacity for improved COVID-19 response. The Activity trained thousands of health facility workers on COVID-19 care and infection prevention, 46,000 lady health workers to provide home-based care, and 3000 people on rapid-response teams to monitor hotspots and collect data. The purpose of this report is to inform project fellows and donors; however, it is also useful for any who want to learn to improve the COVID-19 response in places similar to Pakistan.
