In coordination with USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), we are implementing the Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity (PMC) Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings program. A major part of this program is to conduct PMC supply chain capacity-building activities, including a regional training workshop in Kenya. The target group for this workshop is BHA implementing partner mid-level country or regional staff with health supply chain responsibilities. This workshop will be hosted in Nairobi, Kenya from August 23-27, 2021.

Please note JSI will not sponsor attendance at this workshop and will prioritize BHA implementing partners. In addition, due to COVID-19 restrictions, JSI will not be facilitating travel either international or domestic from locations outside of Nairobi.

After completing the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of supply chain principles through the completion of the e-learning course and review of the addendum to Supply Chain Managers Handbook, Supply Chain Management for Healthcare in Humanitarian Response Settings.
  2. Identify essential logistics data to collect and report, processes for analysis, and information to share across multiple partners to improve commodity availability and monitor supply chain performance during humanitarian crises.
  3. Describe best practices for product selection, procurement, quantification, inventory management practices, warehousing and distribution for kits and individual products when preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.
  4. Apply principles learned through participation in site visit assessments and assignments during the workshop.
  5. Present an action plan for implementing one or more supply chain management improvement interventions for their own programs to help improve disaster response.

Please register for this workshop in advance. Please enter all required information, choice of workshop, and input regarding your learning needs. Please contact Nadia Olson (nadia_olson@jsi.com) with any questions or comments.
