Vaccination has made an enormous contribution to global health. Major infections such as smallpox have been eradicated and global coverage of vaccination against many infectious diseases has been enhanced dramatically. Despite these successes, approximately 6.6 million children still die each year and global vaccination rates have stagnated.

In this episode, you will hear from JSI Immunization Expert, Robert Steinglass. He talks to JSI Program Manager, Adriana Alminana about the importance of vaccination for improved public health and the growing need to increase focus on strengthening routine immunization systems for sustainability and equity.
