With support from USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), and in collaboration with IAPHL, JSI is delighted to announce this webinar featuring health supply chain professionals from the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Nigeria and Uganda. This webinar will was hosted on October 28, 2021, at 9:00 AM EDT. Through this technical discussion, we will identify common challenges and solutions to improve the availability of pharmaceutical products in emergencies and complex settings. Speakers from the field include—
Bashir is a Senior Pharmacy Manager with International Rescue Committee Nigeria, based in Maiduguri with frequent travel to Yobe and Adamawa. He is a pharmacist with over 11 years of experience working in clinical practice at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Maiduguri, Federal Teaching Hospital in Gombe, and the Federal Medical Center in Yola. Bashir has supervised pharmaceutical supply chains in humanitarian settings and supported the MOH in health system strengthening.
Eunice is a Pharmacist working in the International Rescue Committee, Uganda Country Program. She has 5 years of experience managing medical commodities in hospitals and working in humanitarian settings. She is passionate about public health supply chains, ensuring the availability of basic health commodities in the refugee settlements of Bidibidi, Palabek, Rhino, and Imvepi. She also works on health system strengthening to improve outcomes in supply chain management.
We know that prepositioning of pharmaceutical products is crucial for the work of health supply chain managers, especially in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, migration, and forced displacements around the world.
